FabFemme Singles DinnerSalon
An exciting new hip singles event for women -- a fun & friendly informal way to meet other fashionable professionals and dish about the singles life over a drink and a dish or two in the hippest venues in town!
\"Think Sex & the City meets the L Word!\"
\"What I liked most about the DinnerSalon event is that in an intimate setting, you easily converse with the people at the table. In a bar, gallery etc, many feel intimidated to approach someone. This is a great way to meet people for a nice dinner and be in the company of professional women. The questions were great ice breakers and the conversation and laughs just followed! Thanks, FabFemme for a fun evening!!\" - Marlo, Sept 13, 2004
\"The DinnerSalon experience was a new and relaxing way to mingle with other lesbian/bisexual professionals. The dining scenario and casual atmosphere allowed for easy conversation and a fun filled evening out with the girls!\" - Lesli, Sept 14, 2004
Leave all of the planning to FabFemme -- venues carefully selected, rezzies made, RSVPs secured, fun icebreaker cards provided, ambience staged -- enabling you to flash your smile, exude your charm and delight in conversation & laughter for an unforgettable chance encounter with six to eight fabulous women. Meet new friends and quite possibly, new dates as you never know where you\'ll meet your match!

How to Know Where the Group is When You Arrive at the Restaurant: The host or hostess at the restaurant will seat you at the table with the group party and/or will direct you to the bar area where the guests may be congregated prior to being seated.
How to Stay in Touch After the Dinner: Bring business cards to stay in touch with your new favorite gals.
How to Handle the Bill: Everyone is responsible for their own drink and food tab. MUST BRING CASH. Restaurants are aware of the dynamics of the group. We suggest that the bill be split among the group. However, we ask that you be mindful and respectful of your fellow dinner guests and offer to pay more if indeed you ordered more. Remember, this is an informal gathering, thus feel free to order as much or as little as you\'d like! Absolutely no obligations to order full dinner.
Note: In order to ensure that guests meet all new guests at each DinnerSalon, FabFemme reserves the right to request individuals to sign up for an alternative dinnersalon date in cases where there is repeat guest overlap.

In response to the recent unpleasentness in England (Ikea stampede):

The stages of IKEA:
1. Announcement of new outlet to be built...anticipation, enthusiasm,
eager thumbing through the catalog and counting days until opening.
2. Opening of new outlet. Lampke stampede. IKEA spokesperson expresses
shock and regret.
3. For several months or even a year, the shopper visits new,
inconveniently-located IKEA on any pretense whatsoever. ("I need a chair."
"I need some screws for the chair I bought last month, which broke." "I
need some mugs." "I need a meatball.") Spends thrice what he intended on
each visit. Not including commute, each trip takes between 2 and 3 times
as long as the shopper expected, depending on whether the store is a.)
crowded or b.) mobbed.
4. Sales plateau as it slowly dawns on consumers that the interior decor
of every house within a 30-mile radius of the store begins to resemble
that of every other.
5. Now people do not shop at IKEA perkily, with a merry bounce in their
step, as they did before. They shuffle their feet and grumble at each
other in 45-minute long lines. People still like IKEA stuff, but only
because pseudo-Scandinavian accoutrements have so crowded their brains
that they can conceive no other possibilities for home furnishings. They
shop there because there is no other place to shop, or if there is, those
places have been forgotten, like the lost temples of the Maya.
6. On visits to strangers' houses, people walk in the door, look around,
point at things, and say, "Oh! I have three of those lampkes in my study.
Ah, what a nice Fl=FCpg=FC you have. And that Gagg. So lovely." Soon they
forget where they are and fall asleep on the J=F8rgeb=F8rge. IKEAzation is
complete.
7. Announcement of new outlet to be built...

Well, the time has come to move to a new server, and with that, comes
huge changes to the way mail is handled.
Hopefully I can shortly figure out how to create something compatible
fairly soon ... Until then, email to churchkey at this domain
probably just won't work.
